Elsa
The Lineage of High Color Accuracy and Dazzling Brilliance
In 2023, Vortex Mountain Series introduces a new limited product, Elsa, which not only retains the series' high color accuracy and stunning visual appeal but also incorporates new technologies such as Ultra Twins Pair in its structure. Additionally, it utilizes Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd.'s Furukawa silver-copper alloy to construct a graceful sound, continuing the legacy of heritage and innovation.
Breakthrough and Beginning
Elsa not only inherits Lavinia's Shielded Twins Pair structure, but also incorporates Tiana's S-Z Multi Strand structure in its core. This allows for effective reduction of external electromagnetic interference (EMI) through the shielding layer. Moreover, the utilization of the S-Z Multi Strand structure enhances signal conductivity, reduces impedance and signal attenuation, and improves the stability and efficiency of signal transmission, all within the same wire gauge. Additionally, the positive and negative polarity twisting helps minimize proximity effects and skin effects within the core, resulting in cleaner sound and a darker background.
Ultra Twins Pair
Elsa incorporates Lavinia's Shielded Twins Pair structure and combines it with the latest concept of Litz Type 9 (where the total AWG of the conductor and the total AWG of the shielding layer are the same), resulting in the creation of a unique and exceptional structure called Ultra Twins Pair.
Japanese NUC "Air-Injection" Technology
In the world of HiFi cables, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is one of the top insulating materials due to its excellent dielectric constant, which reduces the impact of the insulation layer on high frequencies while achieving a tighter low-frequency coherence. Vortex uses technique of "air-injection" to create the insulation layer's outer skin using polyethylene. As 25% of the insulating material is air, the insulation layer even has a lower dielectric constant than PTFE, further reducing the accumulation of microcharges in the insulation material and making the high- frequency signal more accurate.
Composite Insulation Damping
In addition to using air-injected polyethylene for the main insulation of the core and twisting the positive and negative poles, Vortex has also added a damping layer for the first time to counteract external vibrations and take the already quiet background to the next level. Internal damping has been widely used in HiFi applications due to its significant effects, but it is rarely seen in headphone cables due to limited cable diameter. Conductors already occupy a large percentage of the cross-sectional area, adding a damping layer significantly increases the difficulty of production and manufacturing.
Brand New Tuning
As a regionally limited cable, Elsa is not only tuned with the specific goal of matching Effect Audio's ConX connectors, but also aims to create a headphone upgrade cable with improved three-frequency balance and compatibility for the C.F.S. series. After gathering feedback from various users and partners, we have decided to use Furukawa silver-copper alloy as the main conductor material, further enhancing the overall three-frequency response and resolution.
