Rolling Force's New Flagship Cable: Amber

In June 2022, we introduced an exceptionally popular cable, Mercury, which featured silver-plated gold combined with independently shielded four-strand braiding, quickly becoming a flagship product beloved by our brand’s clientele. However, more than three years have passed, and many customers continue to reminisce about this cable. In response, we have diligently pondered how to launch a product that complements the existing lineup while fulfilling the desire for an upgrade among our loyal customers. Ultimately, we decided to create a brand-new flagship offering crafted entirely from gold-plated materials—Amber.

The Birth of Amber’s Orange-Gold Hue

In ancient China, it was believed that when a tiger dies, its vital essence immediately enters the ground and transforms into stone, hence the term "Tiger Essence," which later evolved into "Amber." The English word "Amber" is derived from the Arabic term "Anbar," and this nomenclature has been in use since the early 15th century.

Amber is the fossilized resin of coniferous trees, exhibiting a clarity akin to crystal and a hue reminiscent of agate. Its beauty has been celebrated since the Neolithic period, and it has been valued as a gemstone capable of being crafted into a wide array of decorative items throughout history.

However, achieving the perfect shade of amber is indeed a challenging endeavor; too little pigment leans towards a yellowish hue, while too much results in a severe cloudiness. After a year of intermittent experimentation, we were inspired by the launch of a new iPhone color, which led us to blend cosmic orange elements, ultimately giving birth to the exquisite amber orange-gold hue of Amber.

The Newly Evolved Secondary Treatment of the Outer Skin

In our recent creations, we have incorporated elements of polarized colors, resulting in an outer skin that is more vibrant and eye-catching than traditional finishes. However, this enhancement has slightly affected the tactile feel, which has been one of our ongoing areas for improvement. After a comprehensive redesign and research phase at our factory, we are excited to introduce a new color formula alongside a secondary treatment for the outer skin. This innovation allows us to achieve a visually stunning effect while further enhancing the tactile experience without compromising performance.

Multi-Stranded and Bi-Directional Twisted Litz - Type 2 Coaxial Composite Structure

The Amber's core utilizes a Litz structure designed to mitigate skin effect and proximity effect. In our twisting configuration, we incorporate more strands than the traditional Litz Type 2, along with an additional central axis for support, creating a coaxial structure. This bi-directional twisting design significantly enhances the performance of low frequencies, dynamics, and overall sound clarity.

Multi-Diameter Wire Technology
For the central axis, we have adopted a new Multi-Diameter Wire Technology as part of our tuning concept. This principle involves distributing high and low frequencies across different positions within the conductor, allowing for variations in transmission time. By utilizing wires of varying materials and thicknesses, we can finely control the sonic performance to achieve our desired tuning direction.

Single-Layer Spiral Independent Shielding
Regarding shielding, we continue to employ the highly challenging and costly single-layer spiral shielding as our independent shielding structure, maximizing the reduction of external interference. Additionally, based on a standard four-strand core, each strand is wrapped in a special foam material made in Japan, and externally enclosed with a 6N OCC shielding layer from Taiwan. This is connected to the ground terminal of the 4.4mm plug, creating an active shielding system that enhances the transparency of the sound.

Pragmatic Packaging Design

We continue to utilize the highly acclaimed storage pouch paired with a minimalist packaging design, achieving a sense of luxury while maintaining practicality, thus eliminating unnecessary costs that serve no functional purpose.

The newly included storage pouch has also been enhanced with an improved interior design, returning to a gray color scheme. Additionally, it comes equipped with cable management clips, combining functionality with aesthetics, providing your cherished earphones with an extra layer of protection.

Liberating the Soul of R&B

R&B (Rhythm and Blues) is an American music genre that blends elements of jazz, gospel, and blues, established in the late 1940s by Billboard magazine. It is characterized by rich harmonies, rhythmic grooves, and emotive lyrics. Over time, R&B has evolved to incorporate influences from soul music, funk, pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, giving rise to what is now known as "contemporary R&B." Renowned R&B artists include Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, as well as Asian singers like Jay Chou and Khalil Fong.

In this iteration, Amber's tuning leans towards enhancing this musical style. Thanks to the use of fully gold-plated materials, it delivers deep yet controlled low frequencies, expressive and engaging vocals, and an overall clear and rounded soundstage—making it perfectly suited for the R&B genre.
